My Favourite Restaurants in St Lucia

There is very little place to turn when seeking information on the best and worst restaurants to dine at in St. Lucia. We depend on word of mouth marketing or get trapped in the lure of paid advertisements only, in some cases, to be sorely disappointed when we spend our money and realize that:

  1. The service was absolutely horrendous; or
  2. The food was terrible

This here is an attempt to begin a “lay man’s” review of St. Lucia’s Restaurants:

  1.  Where do you get the best food for your money?
  2. Where is the service impeccable?
  3. Where should you go when choosing a spot to just hang out?
  4. Which is the best place to make a good first impression?

I encourage you to submit your experiences when dining out:

  1.  What was the best dish and where?
  2. Evaluate the service level of the places you have dined at?

Please share you best and worst list of dishes and restaurants!!!

 Below is my review:

Ti Bananne Restaurant located at Coco Palm in RodneyBay remains my favorite dining spot. The boneless chicken rotis done Trini style is probably my most regular lunch choice. However nothing beats the Friday Night Buffet…….I always look forward to the cinnamon flavored fried plantain…. It turns out into a convenient Friday night hang out because before your meal is though the live band will be setting up anyway!!!!

On the down side the deserts are never really that spectacular…..BUT the service, now, is very good and you can expect to be greeted and served by pleasant staff…especially those at the bar.

Charthouse and Coalpot are my other favorites……in no particular order of preference. It just so happen that Coalpot is usually a lunch option and Charthouse and Dinner option. I really have never tasted a dish at Coalpot which I have not liked and the options are varied enough that you can broaden your preferences.

No I can tell you that if you want the best tasting ribs ever then please go to Charthouse. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to persuade myself to try anything else…I just can’t see myself at Charthouse without eating ribs and baked sweet potatoe.

Both Restaurants have pleasant staff who always remember their customers no matter how long you stay away…how’s that for attention to detail….
