How to Buy The Shoe That Fits

Just about every woman enjoys buying a new pair of shoe. It’s hard to say whether the impulse purchases when browsing outweighs more informed purchases like buying a shoe for work, or for an event. Either way women buy plenty of shoes.

Now ideally this does appear a simple process; what difficulty is there is getting a shoe you like and just asking for your size right? Wrong! Buying a shoes, especially if you’re a woman is not so simplistic. There is plenty to take into account to ensure you are not disappointed with your purchase.

 What’s my shoe size?

There is no right answer to this. Your shoe size will mostly be determined by the shoe manufacturer, shoes style and material. In addition to that the size can be determined by the shape of your foot and comfort.

However whatever your choice ensure that you select a shoe that is slightly wider than your foot. Never buy a shoe that is too narrow because you will regret it at the end of the day or night! Which Shoe Style Fits me Better?

There are very general guidelines to this but more often than not preferences and of course comfort will take precedence.

There is a plethora of high heeled styles around but woman need to consider a few things before making a purchase. Short women should not wear shoes with t-straps or ankle straps because it will make the legs appear shorter. If you like stilettos please remember that the thicker the heels the more comfortable the shoe.

Boots are an all time favorite but remember the rules. Never buy mid-calf or ankle boots to wear with skits and dresses. It is not fashionable! Knee boots are the best and more flexible too.

 When to Shop?

Yes just like you should never do grocery shopping when you are hungry, there is a best time to shop for shoes. Ever wondered why your main focus at the end of the day is when you can get those shoes off? Well that the same reason that you should buy your shoes at the end of the day. The feet tend to swell as the day goes buy with you standing, walking etc so if you buy a shoe in the morning then chances are it will be extremely uncomfortable before you get home.

And please, always try both shoes. Just about everyone has a foot which is not noticeably bigger than the other. You may try that perfect shoe on your smaller foot!
